  • How does Morale affect units?

In short: Morale makes units less likely to "break" (get all disorganized and panicked), more likely to stay where they are when attacked, and can even provide attack bonuses.

Morale affects a unit's chance to Retreat. If a unit has 30 or less Morale, it has a 50% chance to Retreat when attacked. If a unit loses more than 50% of their army in a single attack, they will retreat UNLESS they have 90 or more morale.

The main way Morale affects things is when units become BROKEN. This should be a pretty common occurrence, causing a unit to take significant penalties to their attack and defense. BROKEN status goes away when a unit RESTS.

If a unit's Morale is over 100, it gets a +1 to attack and +1 to defense.
